Hi. I’m Remi Ashford.

I write things down.

Sometimes they become stories. Sometimes they become essays. Sometimes they become an unnecessarily long investigation into something that probably did not require an investigation. I write about books, writing, people, places, ideas, obsessions, and the strange little things that catch my attention and refuse to let go. I’m interested in stories in all their forms—and especially in the messy, fascinating things hiding underneath them. This is where I put the things that don’t quite fit anywhere else.

Pages & Perspectives is where I talk about books and the stories we tell.

Meanwhile, Remi is where I get a little more personal.

And then there’s Fiction, because apparently inventing people and giving them problems is something I enjoy doing.

I’m not particularly interested in having this space figured out down to the last category. I’m here to follow the interesting thread and see where it leads.
